Adopting a pet is a lifelong commitment.

We take the adoption process very seriously. Before adopting a pet, you must truly understand the level of care and commitment required for a successful adoption. Each animal is an individual. Every pet requires specific care, which ranges from the exercise they need to the food they eat to the grooming they'll require. It is beneficial for you to do as much research as possible before adopting and taking your new companion home.

All families must complete a pre-adoption application prior to meeting an animal. You don't have to have a specific animal in mind to complete a pre-adoption application. Applications are held on file for 60 days.

Adoptions are approved to the first qualified home.

All dogs must leave with a Martingale collar and leash. All cats must leave in a carrier or cardboard transport box. If your adopted pet has not yet been sterilized, they must stay for their surgery prior to leaving for home.

Your adoption counselor will facilitate a meeting with the animal you're considering for adoption in another area.

Adoption Procedure

After completing a pre-adoption application, your application will be reviewed by our staff within one to three business days. If your application is approved, you will be contacted by a team member to schedule a meet & greet.

Meet & Greet

Everything we do is in the best interest of our animals. Our adoption procedure aims to match you, your family, and your other pets with one of the adoptable pets in our care who fits your lifestyle.

When you arrive for your meet & greet, an Adoption Counselor will introduce you to the adoptable pet you identified in your application or expressed interest in meeting. Your introduction will take place in a private room, outside in our yards, or in our cat adoption room. Your counselor will share the animal's general and medical history, as well as their needs and any staff or volunteer comments.

If the meet & greet goes well, you're one step closer to taking home your new companion!

Some animals require multiple meet & greets, and this will be shared with prospective adopters prior to the first meet & greet.
